The Zipper won’t go up!
Suck it in, G! Suck it in!
After 4 months, my bridesmaid dress for my sister’s wedding has arrived. In those 4 months, I also (knowingly) gained quite a bit of weight (despite my futile attempts at weight loss). It wasn’t a surprise to me that the dress didn’t fit, but it was certainly an eye-opening experience. Husband did manage to get the dress zipped up, but there is no way I could even sit down…
I have about 4 weeks to lose some weight or else I will have to pay to have the dress taken out. It’s really only the waist that needs the work. In fact, my chest doesn’t fill the dress (despite that area getting bigger as well), but I am happy to buy some accentuation for that area – it’s money better spent than taking out a dress that I will never wear again. (It feels like a monetary penalty for gaining weight)
With the half-marathon 4 weeks away, and some major adjustments in my diet, I am hopeful I can get some of that weight off. In the meantime, I will have that dress hanging in my view every day. Maybe I should take a picture of the back of my dress with the zipper undone and my back-fat hanging out, and post that on the fridge and pantry doors. That should do the trick, right!?!
Any motivational comments and cheers here would be greatly appreciated!
Ugh, what a dilemma. My only advice would be to plan and be prepared for any temptation that might come your way. It’s easy to slip up accidentally if you’re not prepared.
Good luck. I think keeping the dress in constant view is a great motivator, and four weeks is plenty of time if you’re strict with yourself.

Technically, those with a BMI in the overweight area (25-29) live longer than people with a BMI in “normal” range. Sooooo… Forget the dress! Don’t shorten your lifespan. 😉

But id rather have extra money in the short term – to spend on myself, instead of wasting it on a dress that I didn’t even want to buy in the first place
