The Giraffe family is going to Florida!

Yesterday I decided that our family (well, me really) needs to take a vacation!  Originally we always thought husband and I would go on a European vacation to celebrate me being done medical school and our 5th wedding anniversary at this time.  However, it just wasn’t going to work out for us, especially after we found out we are moving.  I was quite disappointed for a long time, especially since everyone I know is using this time between school and residency to go on nice trips.

We have been saving up lots of travel points on our credit card and had enough to cover all of our flights to anywhere in the US or Canada.  I figured I wanted to go somewhere hot and with good shopping… so Orlando it is!  We’ve been there plenty of times before (because we are outlet shoppers) so it wasn’t a hard decision to make.  However, I know it is going to be stressful to travel with two young kids, but at least it is a break from the monotony of sitting in my house, packing, and being sad about leaving here.

So, in exactly two weeks from today, I will be sitting on a plane on my way to summer heat and outlet shopping (oh, and maybe Sea World and Lego Land for the kids, too…)

(Oh, and this probably means that I won’t be able to keep my promise of blogging every day of May… Sorry.)

  1. Have fun! Enjoy your time away from the monotony and stress of packing and leaving. A vacation sounds like a great idea.
The Queen and I just took the Little Prince (he’s 13 months old) to Seattle last month. It was quite the adventure flying with him now that he is mobile (last year he went to Maine and PA before he was walking). I can’t imagine having two “runners” on a plane at the same time! I guess lots of parents do it though, and if they can, so can you. (Eventually probably us too.)

    1. Thanks! I think it will be an interesting trip, and I’m hoping that I become more patient before we leave. That is what will make or break the plane ride for me. We went to San Diego last April and we all came back alive after that… so it must not have been too bad (even though I don’t seem to remember either on of the plane rides)

Tell me what you think, I'd like to know...
