Haiku for Inspiration

In the words of Ray Bradbury“Just write every day of your life…”. Your mission is to write five haikus — one for each of the five days leading up to this Friday. – Weekly Writing Challenge

Tuesday’s Haiku, for winter inspiration:

Evergreen stands tall,

Solitude amidst the snow.

Surviving the cold.

Trees are my greatest inspiration.  Year after year, they grow taller and reach their arms up to the sky.  Nothing stops them.  They lose their leaves and appear bare; yet when the cold is gone, they come back with the same vigour and beauty.  Trees stand strong and weather every type of adversity.  Trees remind me that the spring will always come.

  1. I’ve been challenged by a mentor to write 200 words a day. It creates focus to have a targeted quota. I’m also trying to write 200 words that don’t stink up my blog with bad writing! Let’s hope I can at least hit that goal:)
