Sure, maybe this was only once and only for a short period of about 3 minutes. However, these boys have become experts at convincing me that cooperation is an impossibility in their world. I can’t express how often there is fighting, yelling, screaming, and time-outs in my house. Despite there being millions (no exaggeration) of toys in our house, there is only ever one toy of interest: the toy that he’s playing with. In the world of a three year old and a one year old, that just means trouble. Interestingly, as soon as that particular toy is no longer interesting to one brother, a whole new toy becomes the “must have” among both of them. And to think I am considering risking bringing another little monster into this mix… yikes.
For now, I will revel in the fact that there is some level of cooperation and (as my mom would say), “brotherly love.”
